Wind Speed

Wind Speed will be measured by using an electronic device called a Turbometer.
The turbometer is held so that wind blows through the back of the meter, and the wind speed in knots is read directly from the scale.

Directions for Use.

  1. If possible, select a position where a steady flow of wind is occurring.
  2. Move the slide switch to the desired scale, and turn the machine on.
  3. Hold the Turbometer into the wind, and wait about 4 seconds to get a steady reading. You can tell the wind direction from the direction of loose sand is blown.
  4. Record the wind speed in your data sheet.
