Polar Orbiting Satellites

Polar orbiting satellites have their orbit at 90o to the equator.
They are used for gathering information about the earth, eg weather.
They usually orbit rapidly (are they low or high orbit satellites?)
What is the period of the satellite shown opposite?
How far from the eath do you think it is.
(Hint: read Trash'n'treasure p. 124)

Parallax animation
