In a second class lever
- the effort and the load are on the same side of the fulcrum
- the load is closer to the fulcrum than the effort
- the effort and load are in opposite directions
- a second class lever is a force multiplier
- you can move a heavy load with a small effort
- but this effort has to be further from the fulcrum than the load
