Second Class Levers

A lever is simple machine that uses the turning effect of a force to make a task easier.

  • In a second class lever 
      •  the effort and the load are on the same side of the fulcrum 
      • the load is closer to the fulcrum than the effort
      • the effort and load are in opposite directions
    • a second class lever is a force multiplier
      • you can move a heavy load with a small effort
      • but this effort has to be further from the fulcrum than the load
